At the age of 21, she was A Chief of Staff at Public Strategies, which is a public relations company. She now is the co-founder, along with her husband Dean of McWilliams, which is a firm of governmental affairs consultants. They are highly respected both at the national level as well as local and state.
Andrea McWilliams is a commentator on the national political level and is esteemed by the Texas Women’s Chamber of Commerce as an advisor to the politically powerful.
Andrea Mc Williams has won many awards in her career, some of which are “Profiles in Power” from the Austin Business Journal, the 2016 Texas Businesswoman of the Year Finalist Award from the Texas Woman’s Chamber of Commerce. She has also received the Woman of Distinction Award from the Girl Scouts of Central Texas.
Andrea McWilliams is also a philanthropist who supports and works with non-profit organizations. She has been on the Boards of many of the non-profits such as Texas Lyceum, Arthouse, Heart Gift, Elizabeth Ann Seaton Hospital, Austin Children in Crisis. She is also involved with the Inherit Austin, which is an organization to help preserve Austin’s cultural and architectural past by preserving the historical landmarks.
Andrea McWilliams has either had an interview or been reported on by nearly every news media in the country. Fox News, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, CNN, and even the BBC. She was named top Texas lobbyist in 2009 by the Austin Business Journal.
Mc Williams was raised in Austin and now lives in Old Enfield with her husband Dean and their three Children. She has received Austin Fashion Week’s “Style Setter” Award recognizing the dedication and work she does for the local non-profit organizations.
